Hey guys, the explosive splash damage is bugged. Walls take more damage if they are connected to another wall at a 90 degree angle or/and if they have another wall on top of them. This extra damage does stack.
I discovered this by trying to find out why it seems like sometimes explosives do more damage than they should. Critical hits don't exist in Conan. Explosive damage only varies very slightly. Walls only take significant extra damage when they are connected to another wall at a 90 degree angle or when they have another wall on top of them.
Here are the numbers I found:
10 explosive tests on an unconnected stonebrick wall:
1671 (out of 2100)
1654
1656
1656
1672
1666
1672
1669
1660
1660
5 explosive tests on a wall with another wall connected at a 90 degree angle
1226 (out of 2100)
1261
1233
1229
1245
5 explosives tests on a wall with another wall connected to it
1215
1210
1211
1209
1212
I also ran tests for ceilings and adjacent walls, but the results were within the normal range.
I might still be missing some minor sources of extra damage, but the 90 degree walls and walls directly on top of a targeted wall are the significant sources.
