In this somewhat relaxing episode of Burbex, we find Brin exploring an abandoned Type 35 submarine, and three warships in a tiny blue rowboat. This battle formation belongs to the Peoples Liberation Army Navy, better known as The PLA Navy, which used these vessels for training after they were taken out of active service.
What's special about these ships is that they were all designed and built in China in the 1970s, which was a big step away from the previous paradigm of borrowing and outright stealing designs from the Soviets. The ships have been left here to rot by the PLA, and it's not long before Brin finds an empty rowboat sans oars, and makes his way around the bay for a leisurely exploration.
