Just west of the Salton Sea, on California State Route 78, you might notice a sign welcoming you to the Republic of Slowjamastan, one of the world's 60+ micronations. What is Slowjamastan and why does it exist? That's what we went out there to find out.

Slowjamastan declared its "independence" from the United States on December 1, 2021, and is led by the Sultan Randy Williams, who hosts a nationally syndicated radio show, Sunday Night Slow Jams.

In this video we explore the Republic of Slowjamastan, its many "states", its capitol of Dublandia, avoid their raccoons, and navigate their minefields.
