First time exploring the Akita Yakeyama area! It was far more beautiful than I had anticipated. This area is famous for bears - so take care. (Sorry about the bear bell sound, but it was a necessary precaution.)
It's also possible to do this hike as a traverse from Goshogake Hot Springs to Tamagawa Hot Springs, but I went by car so that wasn't an option for me.
