Exploring Forgotten Mayan Temples
Chiapas Mexico has many ruin sites, but relatively few of them are set up with the infrastructure for tourism. They sit hiding away in the jungle, like buried treasures waiting to be discovered. The last several videos we've posted have been from what I call our Maya Ruin Road Trip. This trip took us to all the main Maya ruin sites: Toniná, Palenque, Yaxchilan, and lastly Bonampak. If you haven't seen these videos definitely check them out, we'll link the playlist above.
As uncovered as these main tourist ruin sites are, they still represent only a small fraction of what the Maya civilization actually built in this area. Even Palenque visited by tens of thousands of people each year is only an estimated 2 to 3 percent uncovered. Join us in this video as we explore a forgotten Maya ruin site.
