Just outside of Descanso, CA in eastern San Diego County, you can find one of the best preserved sections of abandoned Historic Highway 80 in the state. The road is open for hiking, horseback riding, and biking. While we've hiked the road before, we figured it would be a great place to test out a bike and do some exploring.
In this video I ride the Hovsco HovAlpha bike down the abandoned road (mostly successfully) and take a look at some of the roads history and the abandoned Ellis Wayside Rest Area.
