THIS DECK HAS SINCE BEEN RENOVATED -- While on board the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas, we went up to decks 12 and 13 to create an in-depth tour of its sports deck. This popular area features an impressive selection of sporting amenities such as a rock-climbing wall, sports court (used for volleyball, pickleball, basketball, soccer, and more), Flowrider (surfing simulator), Explorer Dunes (9-hole mini golf course), a pair of ping pong tables and a shuffleboard. With the exception of late at night, the sports deck was always full of activity. The cruise ship hosted a variety of tournaments and competitions in this sports-oriented area such as ping-ping, mini golf, soccer, free throw shooting, 3-point shot, 3 on 3 basketball, pickleball and more. Since this video tour, Royal Caribbean has added the Perfect Storm (two racer tube water slides) to the sports deck.
