Cambodia is so much more than the dark days of the Khmer Rouge, I needed to visit Choeung EK and Tuol Sleng for myself so I embarked on a private tuk-tuk tour with Mr. Chetra (+855 85 368 353) to explore the historical and cultural heart of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This tour offered a deeply moving visit to the Killing Fields and Prison S21, where you’ll witness firsthand the impact of Cambodia's tragic past under the Khmer Rouge regime. These important sites are a somber reminder of the resilience of the Cambodian people and ensure that the victims are never forgotten.

I found myself emotionally drained after, so we paused the tour for lunch. After which I went to experience the beauty of the Royal Palace and the bustling Central Market, where the rich culture and daily life of Cambodia came alive. Mr. Chetra had plans to take me to more incredible places, but I was still feeling emotional so decided to head back. The tour provided a well-rounded and sensitive introduction to Phnom Penh, blending history, heritage, and local experiences.
