Dark Art Guitars | Experimenting with 3D Carving on my DIY CNC Machine @DarkArtGuitars | Uploaded April 2017 | Updated October 2024, 6 hours ago.
In this video I show you start to finish how I 3D cnc machined this model of Han Solo in carbonite out of MDF. I used this model from Thingiverse as the model for Han Solo: thingiverse.com/thing:1183473 and then added just a rectangular base. For CAD and CAM I used Fusion360 which is great because it's free and has a lot of 3d toolpaths to chose from. I started of with a 3D adaptive with a 6 mm 2 flute endmill to get the bulk of material out and then used the parallel toolpath with a 4 mm ball endmill for finishing. The CNC router I used to cut everything is the one I built in this playlist: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzcD3pbxIKwKqg32if0zTWI_Jt73_6SxV
