Paratroopers from the 173rd Airborne Brigade worked alongside Greek allies and participated in Greek squad qualification course and explosives training during Exercise Iron Sword 2019 in Kilkis, Greece from Nov. 18 to Nov. 26, 2019. Exercise Iron Sword is a joint training exercise between elements from 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade; 3rd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment; and the 71st Air Mobile Brigade, Hellenic Army and took place at the Urban Warfare National Training Center in Kilkis. The exercise was designed to strengthen interoperability between Greek and U.S. forces.
