A U.S.-mediated ceasefire in Lebanon appears to be having little effect. Four people were killed in Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon on Friday, and Hezbollah says it is continuing to target Israeli troops. The ceasefire, announced on Wednesday, is contingent on a "complete cessation of Hezbollah fire and the evacuation of all Hezbollah operatives" from southern Lebanon. On Thursday Hezbollah rejected those terms. Christiane Amanpour met with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in Beirut for an exclusive interview. Aoun, who rarely speaks with foreign media, is taking this step to send a message to the world about the fate of his nation.
