Truth and Reconciliation in Halo Combat Evolved’s campaign, released on Xbox in 2001, is a funny old mission, and is perhaps also one of the levels with the most varying quality in the entire Halo franchise.

It’s first half is brilliantly designed, and yet in my view Bungie somewhat drops the ball during Truth and Reconciliation’s second half, which does have the odd exciting Halo Combat Evolved moment but also goes on for far, far too long compared to other missions in Halo's campaign.

In this video, I analyse everything from Truth and Reconciliation's level design and gameplay to its story, setting and soundtrack, to try and analyse why it's such a unique experience, while also drawing comparisons to Halo Combat Evolved missions Halo and Assault on the Control Room as well as other games in Bungie's amazing Halo series.
