CSX GP40-2 #6149 (Ex-B&O #4250) and CSX GP39-2 #4303 (Originally Reading #3413, Later Delaware & Hudson #7413) lead a southbound CSX local at Butler Street Interlocking in Hamilton, Ohio on November 14, 2020.
#4303 was delivered to the Reading in December 1974 and was financed through a lease agreement with Chessie System. Ownership was transferred to the Delaware & Hudson as part of the agreement that created Conrail in April 1976. Ownership was transferred back to Chessie (Now CSX) in 1994 when the original lease agreement expired. The 20 GP39-2 diesels were the last diesels acquired by the Reading Railroad prior to it's absorption into Conrail.

***Note: This video was taken from the southwest quadrant of the Dolton Junction diamonds. This location is NO LONGER RECOMMENDED for safe and legal railfanning. Instead, safe and legal access is available just east of this location in the Municipal Building parking lot, or from the baseball fields in the northwest quadrant of the diamond. For those who are a bit more adventurous, shots can be taken from “Mt. Dolton”, a large, steep, man-made hill just southwest of the diamonds.

Railfanning the American Freedom Train, led by Reading T-1 4-8-4 #2101 (AFT#1), on the Penn Central from Middletown, Ohio to Sharonville, Ohio in June 1975.
In early June 1975, the American Freedom Train heads south on the Penn Central (NYC) between Middletown, Ohio and Sharonville, Ohio in preparation for display in Cincinnati near Riverfront Stadium.
The train is led by #1, ex reading T-1 class 4-8-4 #2101.
The train pulls a display train filled with artifacts of American history, as well as crew cars, supplies, and portable concession carts.
In the final still photo, taken during the display in Cincinnati, I am the one on the left - age 5.
This footage, captured by my father, was originally recorded on Super 8 movie film. In the mid-1980s it was transferred to VHS tape. This version was digitized from the VHS version.

On a hot July morning in 2004, CSX train K587 pulls through HM Junction on the CSX Middletown Subdivision. The train, led by CSX AC4400CW CSX #237
and Norfolk Southern D9-44CW #9130, consists of hot metal slabs from AK Steels Ashland, Kentucky works bound for AK Steels Middletown, Ohio works for finishing.
The train has just entered the line at Middletown Junction, which is located within New River Yard. At HM Junction, the Overpeck Cutoff joins the line (tracks to the right), giving trains from the Middletown Sub the option of heading north on the CSX Toledo Subdivision.
