On a hot July morning in 2004, CSX train K587 pulls through HM Junction on the CSX Middletown Subdivision. The train, led by CSX AC4400CW CSX #237
and Norfolk Southern D9-44CW #9130, consists of hot metal slabs from AK Steel's Ashland, Kentucky works bound for AK Steel's Middletown, Ohio works for finishing.
The train has just entered the line at Middletown Junction, which is located within New River Yard. At HM Junction, the Overpeck Cutoff joins the line (tracks to the right), giving trains from the Middletown Sub the option of heading north on the CSX Toledo Subdivision.
