Extinction Rebellion (XR) UK | Everything you need to know about the COP process ft. Paddy Loughman | XR UK @ExtinctionRebellionUK | Uploaded December 2023 | Updated October 2024, 11 hours ago.
EPISODE 6: Everything you need to know about the COP process ft. Paddy Loughman.
In this conversation Clare interviews Paddy Loughman about the COP process. How does it work? How is it not working, and importantly what could it do by its design and what is it structurally incapable of? If fossil fuels and so called energy companies are really capturing the international process so completely, and this is really all about systems of power, both energy power and political power, what can we learn about this that will help us think ahead. Paddy’s personal experience in the U.K. climate champions team from Glasgow helps us to think about the first hand reflections and experiences and what might further the thinking around what international cooperation could be, or what could be done that hasn’t yet been tried. Hopefully this is a helpful exploration before a further discussion later in the week where Clare and Charlie will come together to reflect on this years conference in Dubai.
