Ever wondered how we climb a tree? It's probably not what you expected.
We don't use climbing spikes — ever. Spikes wound the bark and damage the living tissue underneath, leaving trees vulnerable to disease and pests. Instead, we climb a rope.
It starts with a throw ball: a small weighted pouch we toss over the branch we want to anchor to. Once the rope is set, we use foot ascenders to walk ourselves up — using leg strength, not upper body — while suspended from our harness. Our chainsaw gets tied to the bottom of the rope and pulled up once we're in position.
The whole system keeps us safe and keeps the tree unharmed.
