This past weekend I attended Fantasycon in the UK, an annual SFF book event for writers and fans. The panel was Myths about Traditional Publishing and with 2 literary agents on a panel, a senior publishing figure from Gollancz who is also an editor, plus an editor from a smaller independent publisher, it was a fascinating discussion. I made copious notes so everything I am recounting is coming direct from the panellists at the event. This is legitimate advice, from real experts working in the publishing industry.
