After purchasing my Excello 602 Ram Turret Vertical Knee Mill I was in search of a machine vise to use on it. I recalled my grandfather had a few in his junk sitting outside on a pallet. The first one I ran across was a 6” Bridgeport with the swivel base and loaded it up. After scrounging some more I ran across this Universal Vise & Tool Co. out of Parma Michigan, and decided to go with this vise for the slightly smaller package and the more unique brand. At some point I will return to the Bridgeport to get it cleaned up as well. Simple rattle can restore using evaporust. Not much else I can do until I get my surface grinder back together, but I have to learn to scrape first. The green I used was based on photos I found online.
