I had an opportunity to pick up a second Wells Index CNC Mill. This one is a 750 model with slightly bigger castings, a 3HP head, and Servo motors. It will be a little bit more of a struggle to get this machine running compared to the 700 with its stepper motors. Currently I am leaning towards trying to use the existing servo amplifiers and resolver and utilizing Mesa Boards to interface a PC running LinuxCNC. My thought process of having 2 almost identical machines was it gave me an opportunity to run an op 1 on one machine and an op 2 on a second, considering I need to babysit and do tool changes anyway with the Kwik Switch 200.
