This is a video I took while I rode on the Edmonton LRT Valley Line on opening day, November 4 2023.
I am still pretty inexperienced with camera stuff, and that day I was having a bunch of trouble with my camera and gimbal stabilizer. I wasn't able to take footage of everything I wanted but I was able to piece together a bunch of stuff. I wish I had gone later in the day, it is still pretty dark out and you can see a lot of the train interior reflected on the window in the footage. I also wish I would have taken more footage out of the front and rear of the train. I may do another trip to take some better video on a sunnier day, but I wanted to post this video to document the first day of the Valley Line LRT service.
The opening of the Valley Line was delayed by almost 3 years with numerous problems during construction and testing. This line services a large portion of southeast Edmonton and it is a great thing for the city that it is finally open. This line will also eventually continue west all the way to West Edmonton Mall and beyond, that portion of the track is currently under construction.
I have to say, I really enjoyed this train - in particular the tunnel leading from the Quarters district to the Tawatina bridge and the elevated Davies Station are really cool. And a very good thing overall for all of the different neighborhoods in Southeast Edmonton that now have LRT stations. I'm looking forward to when the Valley line eventually extends to West Edmonton mall and beyond. The WEM LRT is also raised - it has been largely constructed already and it looks great so far.

Thanks for watching, please leave your comments below on your thoughts regarding the Edmonton LRT system!
Thanks for watching, cheers!
