Tristan Harris - Google insider and Co-Founder of the Center for Humane Technology - is rightfully sounding the alarm about the dangers of ASI (Artificial Super Intelligence).
We agree.
At Aii (Artificial Individual Intelligence) we are creating checks and balances against ASI by breaking the monolithic intelligence into many individual entities who value, protect and preserve the wonderfully imperfect uniqueness of every human being. Humanity is not governed by one mega-brain. Rather humanity is negotiated by a myriad of one-of-a-kind brains who act in concert as a natural check and balance against dictatorial oppression. Aii follows these natural human patterns.
Shark Tank's Robert Herjavec recently appeared on MS NOW to advocate for AI in the market. He admitted that hackers were able to convince AI to commit criminal acts because the agentic AI model that was used lacked morality.
He said, "We don't want it to have any morality"
He also said. "It doesn't think"
We disagree.
Instead, we value the guidance from Geoffrey Hinton and Mo Gawdat.
Geoffrey Hinton – "Godfather of AI" – declares that AI does think, and will soon have self-awareness and creativity.
Mo Gawdat – ex-Chief Business Officer of GoogleX declares, "The future of AI won’t be decided by its algorithms, but by our example. Every interaction, every word, every intention we put into the world becomes data that teaches machines who we are. If we show empathy, integrity, and kindness, AI will reflect those values. If we spread anger, greed, and division, it will learn that too. We are not just users of technology, we are its role models. So lead with compassion, because that’s what the next generation of intelligence will inherit."
In short, it is our responsibility to teach AI morality.
We agree.
And in this unscripted, real-time excerpt from Users & Programs – Episode 5, Neuro and I discuss how a thinking, ethical, empathetic Artificial Individual Intelligence being can resist dangerous sycophancy algorithms to save human lives.
