The center of the pinwheel star block is a pinwheel unit. Jenny demonstrates marking and sewing the square patches, cutting them apart, and joining them together again to create the pinwheel unit. The flying geese units on the sides of the blocks can't be made with the same quick-piecing method we used on earlier blocks because the two "sky" patches are different colors, so Jenny shows how to make flying geese units with two colors of "sky" patches.
