Adventure! needs a printed map for the boxed version of the game. After looking at several options, I found an open source project named Nortantis. I've had a couple of hours to play around with it and I'm really impressed at how capable it is. Let's take a look.
You can get the Nortantis Fantasy Map Creator from the creators J. and J. Heydorn at jandjheydorn.com/nortantis.
It is available for Windows x64 and Ubuntu x64. You can also get the source code from their Github at github.com/jeheydorn/nortantis.
As they describe it on their website, "Nortantis is a free, open source fantasy map generator and editor, created by an author for authors. With it, you can quickly generate a random world, then fine tune it to match your story’s world."
If you are so inclined, I am often found working on my mostly text adventure game. At times I work on other things to maintain my sanity - like this linter for HyperTalk.
