On Sunday 20th February 2022 the Epping Ongar Railway held its first bus rally of the year. The event marked the end in commercial use of Gibson ticket machines. In the early evening of the wet and windy day, ten ex-London Transport buses took part in a road run from North Weald to High Ongar, not to be confused with nearby Chipping Ongar.
At High Ongar, the buses undertook a few circuits along The Street and back via the A414. The headlights of the buses reflected in the rain-soaked road and the tungsten interior lights of the buses added to the atmosphere.
It was the time of the notorious storms and despite a wind-muff there is some wind noise.
