The Last Supper was not just a farewell meal. It was a marriage proposal. In Part 3, we look at Jesus as the heavenly Bridegroom — His conception by the Holy Spirit, His perfectly ordered heart, His baptism and testing in the wilderness, and then the covenant He offers at the Last Supper through the lens of a first-century Jewish wedding.
When Jesus took the cup and said "This is the new testament in my blood," He was offering the betrothal cup — the same cup a Jewish bridegroom would offer his bride. The disciples who drank were saying yes. And Jesus vowed not to drink again until the Kingdom of God comes — because the second cup belongs to the wedding feast. He has gone to prepare a place. He is coming back.
This session answers the question: What kind of Bridegroom is Jesus — and what does it mean to be His Bride? The answer changes everything about how you understand your relationship with Him.
