Is your car engine running cold? Heater not hot enough? Temperature gauge reading low? That usually means the thermostat is stuck open, which on a few cars I have seen recently is a right pain to fix as the thermostat is buried away and expensive to replace. E.g. on the BMW engine used in the 320d Freelander1 TD4 etc you have to remove the camshaft cover, drive belt and water pump!
However there is a much easier fix that you can do by inserting a thermostat inside the coolant outlet pipe at a much more convenient position, on the top front of the engine as hot water goes to the radiator.
It’s quick and easy. See the video.
