"I believe that civil society is a key driver of change in this country. Change for the better," says Ambassador Cornelius Zimmermann, NATO's Senior Civilan Representative in Afghanistan.
During his time as German Consul General in Mazar-e-Sharif from 2014-2015, Zimmermann was inspired by the people he met in northern Afghanistan. Having now returned to the country, Ambassador Zimmermann has made it his goal to engage not only with political actors but also with civilian society in Afghanistan.
