Along the U.S. West Coast, collisions with vessels are one of the primary threats to whales, and researchers have documented whale collisions along every U.S. coast. But there is hope. The bipartisan Whale Conservation Habitat Analysis, Research, and Technical Strategies Act, known as the CHARTS Act, was introduced in the U.S. House and referred to the House Natural Resources and Transportation and Infrastructure committees.
