50th anniversary of End of Southern Steam was celebrate over two weekends at Mid Hants Railway known as Watercress Line, with up to 7 steam loco running at once.
Over in two weekends 1st - 2nd July & 7th - 9th July with 5 visiting engines running with two from the home fleet on an very highly packed timetable with a few specials in there.

SR rebuilt Merchant Navy class 4-6-2 no.35006 Peninsular & Oriental S. N. Co - visiting from Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Steam Railway
SR original Battle of Britain class 4-6-2 no.34081 92 Squadron visiting from Nene Valley Railway
SR rebuilt Battle of Britain class 4-6-2 no.34053 Sir Keith Park visiting from Severn Valley Railway
SR rebuilt West Country class 4-6-2 no.34046 Braunton running as 34052 Lord Dowding
BR Standard 4MT tank 2-6-4T no.80078 visiting from Mangapps Railway Museum
BR Standard 4MT 2-6-0 no.76017 from the home fleet
BR Ivatt 2MT 2-6-2T no.41312 from the home fleet
The railway had some recreations of the heyday steam on the southern railway such as Bournemouth Belle, last train of Westbury Tomato Train, Freight trains, Lymington Shuttles, Brake vans and many more.

Last shot was very special, recreating the days when Bournemouth Belle was diverted over the line with a load on 8 to listen to the 3 cylinder beat over the 1in60 towards Medstead & Four Marks station at Hampshire Hunt Bridge, save best to last!
What a brilliant gala it was and well done to all those involved at the gala to make the gala special and to celebrate the 50th years of End of Southern Steam, I hope I be around to see the 100th!
