Manga spoilers from The Promised Neverland (maybe??). A variety of Emma-centric relationships from The Promised Neverland to 'You Are Loved' by Stars Go Dim. My Fridays recently have been being hyped about Wandavision and then being disappointed by the Promised Neverland season 2. So naturally, I edited TPN first. I was actually anime only for this show, I loved season 1, but I didn't go read the manga because I tend to just stick with whatever medium I first encounter the series in. But I started getting bad vibes from season 2 around episode 3, which got worse after episode 4, and then Norman showed up in episode 5, and it was just so anticlimactic and wrong, so I went and binge read the manga twice in, like, two weeks, and now I'm sad about the anime.

I'm just so baffled about the anime. Like they cut so much, and then they just picked back up and are basically adapting the manga, but the context is different, so none of it hits the same. It's just so bizarre. I keep waiting for the moment where their decision to make changes hits and makes sense, and it just hasn't come, and with only three episodes left, I cannot see how they can possibly wrap this show up satisfyingly. The manga isn't perfect, but it's a lot better than this, and Goldypond (which they cut) is the best arc after the Gracefield House/Escape arc. Also it has Yugo, who fits my favourite tropes of having a redemption arc and regains his hope and becomes a father figure to the kids. I am so glad I read the manga after seeing the anime because I would have been so gutted for him being cut.

Anyway, I have rambled for too long, I've just had a lot of thoughts about this series bouncing around inside my head for several weeks. Doing a full edit with manga was hard, but I kind got of into it by the second half. Enjoy!
