Mirror Ox is the sixth coin in the Mirror Lunar series from Tokelau, which started with the Year of the Monkey in 2016. This was followed by the Year of the Rooster, Year of the Dog, Year of the Pig and Year of the Rat. This edition celebrates the Year of the Ox, which starts on February 12, 2021. The coin was struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver in proof quality and has a remarkable diameter of 65 mm. The motive shows a classic representation of an Ox looking at a mirror reflection of itself. Different types of surface are used to depict the mirror image - one half of the motive shows the polished relief of an Ox on a matte background, the other half shows the matte mirror image of the Ox on a shiny background. Characteristics such as justice, seriousness and reliability are attributed to the Ox. People born in the year of the Ox are considered to be very hardworking. The mintage is limited to only 500 pieces worldwide. The Mirror Ox silver coin is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
