The Royal Australian Mint has changed things up to create more opportunities for people to engage in the New Year celebrations and The Coin Couch was there to join the fun!

New Year’s Eve – Last coin of the year
Similar to last year, the mint held a lucky door draw. However, this year they drew the last ten customers to strike a coin.
Each lucky winner received a certificate authenticating their last coin for 2017.

New Year’s Day – First 100 by 9.30 am!
On the 1st of January 2018 the first 100 people at the Mint by 9.30 am received a ticket to go into the lucky draw to be the first person to strike a coin in 2018! Tickets were drawn to declare all 100 places, receiving corresponding certificates authenticating their piece.
