Emerson Keane 52" ceiling fan in brushed steel with brushed steel/barbeque black blades, shown on the included 4 speed wall control. This time I showed the other side of the blades, though I think I prefer the black side. This is one of the offerings from Emerson that I wish would've expanded upon itself a little more. It's sort of their version of the "elevated builder fan" trend of recent years, but actually was one of the pioneers of that movement just short of a decade ago. They actually offered a nice range options, particularly in the blade finishes, but there was so much more room for cool things. Definitely should've expanded into the brass finishes, paired with some of the existing wood blade options plus the usual black and white, it would've looked incredible. I also always wished they'd done some cool light offerings. This was ripe with potential for a setup similar to what Quorum did with the Windmill; a selection of accessory light offerings that would simply replace the included switch cap for an integrated look. A couple of modern single globe offerings, a flat panel LED in more recent times, and maybe a couple wackier contemporary things would've been super cool additions for this collection. Could've been some relatively low-cost accessory items to really diversify and expand the installation opportunities for the model. It was a fantastic design execution, and I think a great price value for the Emerson brand paired with the elevated design, but without lighting options the impact was limited compared to some of the other fans in the lower price tier that do offer more of those versatile options. Build quality is definitely on the lower end for an Emerson product, but the finishes and overall feel are nice for the price point. In recent years it was uncommon for me to feel like Emerson was doing anything super revolutionary; despite the products being really nice quality, they seemed to always be a little behind on a lot of aspects from finish trends to LED adoption, but in hindsight the Keane was ahead of even its own time. Side note: I had no major issues with noise this time. I'd forgotten I had any until I read my old description, the thing with the switch housing resonating. I always appreciated that most Emerson motors and fans overall operated very quietly, even those in the lowest tiers. It was nice to be able to buy a more budget-based product from Emerson and know that the noise levels wouldn't be much different than their highest-end offerings.
