I've added USB charging and line input to my old Emerson AD2452 boombox from the 90s.
This was my first real stereo and first CD player. The CD obviously no longer works, It just one day would not work. The tape no longer works due to rotted belts and I cannot get inside because I don't have a long enough screwdriver. (At the time of the correction of this part of the description I now have a temporary belt but still no long screwdriver)
I used a Car 12v USB charger and connected it to the power wires where the CD player used to be. I mounted it to a piece of board that i had lying around and seems to work fine. This is a work in progress so I'll release future videos when it's finished. I am currently testing this rig because my other charger had a fit about the 7.5 volts coming off the system but the current charger seems to be happy.
Thanks for watching, stay tuned for more.
