Did you know this animated spin-off of the classic TV series Emergency! aired from 1973–1974 on NBC’s Saturday mornings?
Across 23 half-hour episodes, the team tackled exciting rescue missions, teaching teamwork and emergency response along the way. Even after its final episode in 1974, reruns kept it alive until 1976!
Trivia:
The show brought back fan-favorite paramedics Johnny Gage and Roy DeSoto— oiced by the original actors Randolph Mantooth and Kevin Tighe—while adding a fun twist: four kids trained in lifesaving skills (Carol, Matt, Jason, and Randy) plus their unforgettable animal sidekicks .
The animation was produced by Fred Calvert Productions since Universal didn’t yet have its own animation division at the time.
At the end of each episode, actors Kevin Tighe and Randolph Mantooth appear as their Jonny and Roy characters, giving a brief message about fire and paramedics.
The series did not have it's own DVD release so we only have some uploads on YouTube. Here is the intro.
