A look inside a live and working elevator/lift control panel which is over 30 years old, and is one of the few still using large relays/contactors to switch everything on and off, which makes it so awesome.
Also you can see the lift motor and the brake (watch the brake closely, it is difficult to see it move, since it moves only slightly!)
This is the only lift in a fully-occupied 5-floor office building, so it's active most of the time. Although the car has been 're-furbished' so it looks a lot newer than 30+ years old, the control room has not. (Yay :P)

I just realised that Ive never shown Bawami (my not-yet-released MIDI player*) playing live MIDI input from a keyboard, so I cheaply threw this video together in an instant. Also, I finished making this shiny new channel mapping ability this evening. Oh well, maybe rushed videos are still okay sometimes, like in the good old days? ^^;
Once again, the MIDI is made by SX (http://homepage1.nifty.com/SX/). Its a rather complex MIDI file (e.g. it uses MIDI channel filters) that I did not show off well. I should make a proper demonstration of the various MIDI messages which Bawami supports some time.

I got bored and thought this looked nice, so I got my camcorder stupidly close to record it. Getting the focus right was a pain.
These sparks are being made by the inverter from a plasma ball arcing to ground. I dont know the exact voltage, but I guess its around 2 thousand volts (not a job for my voltmeter). This means the amperage is extremely low, but I sure still wouldnt like to touch it.
The second half of the video shows the insulation of the ground wire glowing blue (which I thought looked awesome) and burning. Its clearly not meant for such high voltages.

Heres a much-needed compilation video using some of the many videos I recorded at London MCM Expo (May 2009). It mainly focuses around cute things because this video was originally going to be for the Touhou cosplayers, and... well, you know, I didnt think soldier or Alien cosplays would fit in very well. I wonder if you can call a Dalek cute though.
The sudden song change is because Cirnos Perfect Maths Class had so many different parts that it was too hard for me to be lazy while editing the video. I tried to at least change the song when it reached an appropriate place.
EDIT: Whoa, sorry about the sync problem after about half way through. I did rush this, after all, but I didnt think it would be that bad... =/

I decided to try my hand at another time-lapse video, but this time, I tried to make it more peaceful and less dramatic. =)
This time, its at a constant 48x speed, so we have just under 3 hours of real life squeezed into a little under 4 minutes. Also, this time, my camcorder was facing out of an open window, so yay, no annoying/confusing reflections!
I had no idea that what seems to be Venus would happen to be visible as a bright dot a little way underneath the moon (at least, its visible if you watch in HD). Also, keep an eye out for the clouds which look like giant soaring birds between the two houses, at around 02:30.
The sound is audio taken from the actual full video - 25-second segments crossfaded together, whose starting times match the time in the time-lapse video. So you get a good idea of what it sounded like, without it sounding stupid from being played at 48x speed. =p")
