Join Amée and me for an electric trike camping adventure deep in Alberta’s boreal forest.
For this trip, I’m using the Mooncool FT1 fat-tire electric trike to carry my camping gear and explore some of the trails around camp. With 20 × 4-inch fat tires, front and rear cargo baskets, a 48V 14.5Ah battery and 500W motor rated at up to 1092W peak, it’s an interesting alternative to a conventional bicycle for getting yourself and your gear into camp.
Once we find our campsite, I’ll set up the Onewind Solo Skyshade Tartent and spend some time exploring the surrounding boreal forest with Amée.
The Solo Skyshade is a lightweight 3-season shelter made from 20D silnylon, weighing about 2.7 lb. It can also be configured several different ways depending on the weather and conditions.
This isn’t just a gear review — it’s a chance to see how the equipment actually performs on a real overnight camping trip.
