The first phase can be somewhat tricky due to the random nature of the magic spells flying around. The second phase is where the real danger is, as if you allow Rennala to get going, you'll inevitably be hit - the RNG nature of both spells and summons can turn any situation pear-shaped.
Fun fact: The dragon at the end can hit/kill you even while she's dying. Let's say that I had that happen during one of these runs...

Oddly enough, Godrick is easier than Margit due to many of his attacks having large windups. Add the free damage opportunities of him screaming and the start of the second phase, and it makes him feel like the sub-boss rather than the actual one for Stormveil Castle.
