A compilation of 6 different ways to dodge Malenia's flurry slashes combo on melee builds, found after a lot of testings and verified ingame by myself and other challenge runners. This attack is also known as the multihit 1000 slashes combo, waterfowl dance, whirlwind attack and other fancy names to describe this bullshit slashes spam that was probably not playtested before release.

Malenia, Blade of Miquella will always do this attack upon reaching 70-65% hp, so you can preemptively space it out and trigger it at a distance that lets you outrun the first combo. Malenia can then use it again during the rest of the fight, so learning how to avoid random point blank flurries is the most important part of any Malenia kill.
Since she catches you no matter what when rolling away, you need to roll into and behind her once she catches up for the 3rd combo particularly.

00:00 Outspace
When Malenia starts the attack at mid-range or more from the player, you can run in the opposite direction to outspace both the 1st and 2nd flurries. Then turn around as she pauses before the 3rd combo and roll under and behind her to perform a tracking juke to both dodge hits and lead her to miss and land away from you for the final slashes combo on the ground.

Similar concept than the first outspace, only if you don't have enough space behind you to outrun the 2nd flurry combo then you must instead roll into her to i-frame the whole flurry (this is the only one of her 3 combos that can be entirely i-framed) and then roll behind her to redirect the 3rd combo just like before.

This is essentially a longer quickstep with more i-frames that you can apply on any weapon. It is dropped by a Night Cavalry boss spawning at night time on the bridge north of the Lenne's Rise site of grace in Dragonbarrows. Apply this on your main weapon or a secondary light weapon (e.g a dagger) and spam it while running away from Malenia to easily dodge even point blank flurries.

A very precise and difficult to time dodge. You must be in light roll to perform this dodge as the point is to roll outside of her range. Last recourse action when she's starting a close range flurry and you don't have any other way to survive.
00:55 Throwing knives bait
This works by throwing any type of projectile consumable (knives, pebbles, etc) which causes Malenia to input read something being thrown at her ; she will then immediately dash sideways to dodge it before running to the character to perform a counterattack. However if she was preparing to do a flurry attack, this will cause her to trigger the attack immediately where she stands before gap closing on your character, thus making it very easy to dodge it from long range.
1:11 Stagger interrupting the attack
Staggering Malenia out of the flurry attack seems to work mostly if you have a weapon able to stagger her reliably in a few hits and break her hyperarmor on this attack. Causing a frost or bleed proc on her will also stun Malenia out of the attack, so high bleed weapons will have more luck in doing so.
