In this video we will see how to make Ela Ada recipe in Tamil, a traditional Kerala delicacy that’s as healthy as it is delicious. This steamed sweet treat is made by encasing a flavorful coconut and jaggery filling inside soft rice flour dough, all neatly wrapped in fresh banana leaves. When steamed, the banana leaves infuse the ada with a subtle, earthy aroma that makes every bite extra special.
Ela Ada is often enjoyed as a breakfast item, evening snack, or festive sweet, especially during Onam and Vishu celebrations. The natural sweetness from jaggery combined with the freshness of grated coconut creates a perfectly balanced filling, while the tender rice covering offers a comforting, melt-in-the-mouth texture. Whether served hot straight from the steamer or cooled for later, ela ada pairs wonderfully with a cup of tea or coffee.
