A black-breasted buzzard at Healesville Sanctuary has shown off one of the species’ most impressive natural skills, using a rock to smash open an emu egg.

Cameras placed around the enclosure and inside the egg captured Bernice carefully cracking her way in, with keepers saying the behaviour is instinctive rather than taught.
