The draw of this single, “We All Fall Down” was originally written by guitarist/bassist/vocalist Ian MacKaye for his band Embrace, although the other members rejected it. It is a commentary on the failure of Revolution Summer, a movement in the D.C. hardcore scene in 1985, advocating non-violence at shows and abstention from drug use. It ultimately did not succeed.
