In 1911 the future Edward VIII was invested as Prince of Wales at Caernarfon Castle - for this occasion, an event that mixed revivalism and innovation a new set of regalia was created that were heralded as the 'Honours of Wales'. In this video I chart the history of these objects, and look back to the past precedent of coronets and other symbols of princely dignity used by medieval and early modern Princes of Wales, heirs apparent to the English crown.
