Let's review each episode of the classic Cartoon Network cartoon Ed Ed n Eddy Cartoon Network in under a minute!
Transcript:
Ed-n-Seek is exactly what you think it is. The Eds play hide and seek with the rest of the kids. ...And that's it. They find the kids, then they hide from them. Making it unbelievably even less fun than an actual game of hide and seek. Now what separates this episode from the last is that there are some slightly funny moments. Eddy's comment about Ed having buttered toast for a brain, Johnny using Plank as a divining rod to find Sarah, even the Kankers random cameo is a bit amusing. There's a joke that could have been funny where the Eds tell Plank his parents are calling, and he actually peeks out of a bush, but nothing follows it. And, yeah, the hiding spots do get creative. Especially for the Eds, who start out hiding in a fake bush, before Ed blows it up. I love the cartoon gag where we hear screaming fading out and in as someone is launched up then falls back to Earth, so this moment is on my good side. Unfortunately, these moments don't support an eleven minute episode, and the runtime feels a LOT longer than it is! I feel like some episodes were written backwards, where they had some jokes they wanted to somehow work into the show, so they wrote a bare bones plot to use them in. Instead of writing a plot and thinking up jokes that work best for it. And that's how this feels. There's some jokes, everything else is fluff. There's not even an ending. The Eds run off and hit themselves with a tree. We don't even know if they win or not. I guess if you have to watch this episode, just watch the gags I mentioned, and skip the rest. This episode can go hide, and I'm not going to look for it.
