We tried to use powdered sugar and corn starch to breathe fire with limited success (it does work). Tried 91% isopropyl alcohol and it was much more impressive. 70% works really well too.

Disclaimer: This is unsafe. Don't do this under any circumstances ... but if you do, I wouldn't recommend using anything more flammable than isopropyl alcohol or you risk burning your face off, which is not fun. Also isopropyl alcohol is not for drinking, so spit it out, otherwise you'll get an upset tummy, which is not fun. If you do it indoors, I reserve the right to laugh when you burn your house down, because if you're that stupid it probably won't end well for you. Don't do it with gas or you will definitely burn your face off, and again I'll laugh at you. The bottom line is please avoid being stupid.
