A Chinese Martial Art Tradition is to have a banner for your school, which is hung on the wall to prove you are legit. They can be carried in parades or other events when needed, as this custom comes from the militias of old.
I have an AWTO banner from the1990's, and I enjoy seeing the sam ebanner hanging still in Hong Kong WT gym on some videos. I am the last person remaining from the days of the AWTO....(Maybe we can count a few others who still show up to give private lessons at EBMAS events, but he does not have a shingle to hang it under)
I created this banner to honor the last remaining Si-FU's who honor their sworn duty, and who have a gym with walls to hang it in. My top student has been coming to the Temple Gym weekly without fail since 2008, and I no longer charge him a fee, nor do I award any belts of certifications. I am awarding the first EBMAS Banner to him, so when I am gone he can continue this tradition.
I have mailed a few out too. If you are an EBMAS Kwoon in the USA and I missed you, let me know. I have one ready to print for EBMAS Mexico and one to send to Dai Si-FU Emin with EBMAS Turkey..Sending them out soon...
