Many of us will have leftover scraps and charm pack squares of cotton fabric that we don’t quite know what to do with because they don’t seem to gel with anything else in our stash.
Hold that thought! Corinne Bradd has a great way to mix and match those fabrics and still create a cohesive design for a quilt top.
Simply make all your squares the same size, stack them right sides up, and grab a rotary cutter. Cut through all layers and separate the stacks before cutting again at another angle. Once you have five or six strangely shaped stacks it’s time to begin mixing up the patterns and sewing them back together.
Corinne guides you through this no-hassle, no measuring method to create a geometric ‘shatter’ design block from all those pieces of fabric. Once they’re stitched back together you will need to square them up and stitch them into a fabulous quilt top.
