In this video, I’m sharing my easy and delicious Apple Cake recipe, also known as European Apple Pie or 'Sharlotka.' This was always a childhood favorite of mine, and it’s the first thing I ever learned how to bake. It’s simple to make, kid-friendly, and healthy, thanks to the many apples and just a little bit of dough. You can enjoy it as is or top it with some whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
It’s a perfect dessert for any occasion, and I’m sure it’ll bring back some sweet memories for you too.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1.5 large apples (and the other half for decoration; I used Honeycrisp)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
1 tablespoon cinnamon
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
