A model is compared to geological interpretations of the eastern Cordillera of Colombia at the northern tip of the Andes. The eastern Cordillera is a basement-cored uplift dominated by a "mega-anticline", with sedimentary cover units developing a small fold-thrust belt on the long limb of the anticline. Small ridges west of Bogotá are the topographic expression of this fold-thrust activity, although the model shown better matches overall structure south of Bogotá.
