The Kerr County, Texas, floods are just the latest flash flood disaster this summer in the US, with major events in West Virginia a few weeks ago. Both of these flash flood occurrences have similarities to the Eastern Kentucky Flood of 2022, as well as other flash flood disasters in previous decades. All of these landscapes share a common characteristic that makes them more prone than other landscapes to flash floods.
